Course Proposal Information

Are you interested in presenting a workshop? Texas State staff and faculty are invited to share their expertise and knowledge with their TXST colleagues by facilitating dynamic training presentations and workshops. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to contribute to your fellow Bobcat’s life-long learning. Submit your course proposal ideas using the course proposal form.  

Traing
    • Submission of course synopsis for advertising one month prior to workshop.
    • Forwarding of handouts and/or PowerPoint presentation two weeks prior to the course.
    • Arrangements made in advance for audio/visual equipment training from Talent Development and Communications, hr_tdc@txstate.edu. Contact Instructional Technologies Support (5.2319) for any additional needs.
    • Pull their course roster and maintain attendance at all courses. 
    • Log into SF Learning and give all attendees credit for attending their course.   
    • Prepare to be a TXST Course Instructor. 
      • Instructors must complete Instructor Essentials prior to facilitating their first course. Instructors Essentials is a required course for all active TXST instructors or individuals wanting to improve their skills for hosting a training course. 
      • To access Instructor Essentials, log into SF Learning, and click on “View My Learning”. In the search bar under “Find Learning” type in Instructor Essentials and click “Search”. Instructor Essentials will pop up as Course ITM 541.
  • By submitting a course proposal and facilitating a training or workshop, you are not only providing invaluable development opportunities and promoting lifelong learning for your Bobcat community, but you are also enhancing your resume and gaining valuable experience.  

    This is also a unique opportunity to spotlight your research, share best practices, and showcase your skillset with others.  

    Additionally, once you’ve completed facilitating your first course, the Talent Development and Communications team will send you a badge in SF Learning that will be seen by your manager and included in your performance review.

  • After a university-wide needs assessment survey, your fellow Bobcats identified specific areas they would like to have more training in. On this list were:  

    • Technology/Technical Skills 
    • AI 
    • Conflict Management 
    • Leadership Development 
    • Time Management 
    • Organizational Processes 
    • Career Development 
    • Budget Management 
    • Safety and Emergency Preparedness 

    Do you have any expertise in these areas to share? If not, please submit a course proposal for something you are passionate about. We'd love to hear what you would like to share with your Bobcat colleagues.

    1. After you’ve submitted your course proposal, the Talent Development and Communications team will review it.  
    2. TDC Training Specialist will contact you for more information on details, scheduling and will set up your course in SF Learning. 
    3. Course Instructors must complete the Instructor’s Essentials course before their first course is scheduled.
